Zomato Lay Off: After tech companies, now food delivery company Zomato is going to lay off its employees. The company is preparing to fire 3 percent of its employees (Zomato employees). Zomato has also started the process of layoffs. In the last one month, tech firms Twitter, Meta and Amazon have also laid off 25,000 employees globally to cut costs.
It is being told that the retrenchment will be based on regular performance, which will affect 3 percent of the employees. A spokesperson for online food delivery platform Zomato said, “There has been regular performance-based churning of less than 3% of our employees, nothing more.” According to the reports, Zomato will cut the number of employees in its technology, marketing, product and catalog department.
There have been layoffs in Zomato before as well.
There are currently about 3800 employees working in the Zomato company. Please tell that the company has reduced its work force earlier also. The company last laid off 13% employees (520 employees) in May 2020 due to a slowdown in business following the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. Resignations have been going on in Zomato for some time already. The company’s co-founder Mohit Gupta has resigned from his post on Friday. Similarly, in early November, New Initiative head Rahul Ganju and Siddharth Jhawar, head of Interschi Legends Services, had also resigned.
