Upcoming hybrid and electric cars in India: Electric segment vehicles are increasing rapidly in the Indian auto market. Disturbed by the high prices of petrol and diesel, customers are also preferring to buy hybrid vehicles. Several automakers including Hyundai, Maruti, and Tata are working on new hybrid and electric vehicles that will be introduced in the Indian market soon. Auto companies are planning to introduce Real Driving Emissions (RDE) standards and environment friendly vehicles. In today’s news, we are giving information about five hybrid and electric vehicles coming in India.

1. MG Comet

MG Motor has maintained a good hold in the electric vehicle segment in the auto market. After the Wuling Air EV, the company is now gearing up to introduce the MG Comet EV. If reports are to be believed, the EV car will go on sale in India by the middle of this year. MG believes that the slim body of the small electric vehicle makes it suitable for navigating city roads and light traffic.

2. BYD Seal

Auto company BYD plans to introduce its third vehicle in the Indian market by the end of 2023. BYD Seal is a new electric sedan, which can go up to 700 kilometers on a single charge. Its 82.5 kWh battery pack gives excellent range. Based on the e-platform 3.0, the electric saloon will come with either a single motor or twin motor layout. The new BYD Sealed is expected to be available in India with a 530-horsepower dual-motor arrangement.

3. Maruti Suzuki C-MPV

Maruti Suzuki will soon launch a premium C-segment MPV similar to the Toyota Innova Hycross. It can be of Grand Vitata style. Toyota will share the sibling’s 2.0-litre NA petrol and 2.0-litre hybrid petrol engines.

4. Maruti Suzuki Dzire Hybrid

Maruti will introduce the next generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire in India in the year 2024, after several updates. The upgrade is a new 1.2-litre three-cylinder powerful hybrid petrol engine. The car will give a range of 35-40 km/l.

5. Lexus RX 500h

The Lexus RX was first showcased at the Auto Expo in January 2023. The fifth generation luxury SUV will be available in two trim levels X 350h Luxury and RX 500h F Sport Performance. Hybridization is included in both the 2.4-litre and 2.5-litre turbocharged petrol engines.
