Aadhaar Document Update: Aadhaar is one of the most important documents these days for every single citizen of the country. Along with our identity, Aadhaar has become a mandatory document for availing most of the government schemes, opening a bank account and so on. In such a situation, it is important that your Aadhaar card is updated. If any kind of information in Aadhaar is incorrect and not updated, many times your work may stop.
There is good news for you that the government has made the facility of updating documents in Aadhaar online free of cost for three months till June 14. Earlier, citizens had to pay Rs 25 for updating their documents on the Aadhaar portal. However, people should note that this service is free only on the myAadhaar portal. That is, if you still go to Aadhaar centers to change name, date of birth, address and other details, you will have to pay a fee of Rs 50.
According to information released by Press Bureau of India PIB, UIDAI has said that free Aadhaar update service is available on myAadhaar portal. UIDAI is encouraging citizens to update their documents free of cost, especially if Aadhaar was issued ten years ago and never updated. The free service of document update is available for the next three months i.e. from March 15 to June 14, 2023.
Online Process to Update Documents in Aadhaar Card
Using the MyAadhaar portal is also fairly straightforward, the Aadhaar holder just needs to ensure that their phone number is linked. You can login with your Aadhaar number and an OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number. After this click on document update. Now the details will come in front of you. If the details are correct, click on the hyperlink. On the next screen, you need to select the proof of identity and proof of address documents from the dropdown list and upload the copy to update your documents. After the complete process, the documents will be updated in your Aadhaar.
