The Center has made it mandatory to link Aadhaar with PAN card before March 31, 2023. According to the Income Tax Department, if a citizen does not do Aadhaar-PAN linking, the PAN card will become inoperative from April 1. According to the official notification, the last date for linking Aadhaar with PAN card was 31 March 2022. However, it was further extended till March 31, 2023, with a minimum Rs 1,000 penalty fee.
In such a situation, if you have not yet linked your Aadhaar card with your PAN card, then do it before March 31. If you do not do this, your PAN card may be closed, which will prevent you from filing your income tax return. How to check whether Aadhaar is linked with PAN card or not
Step 1: First of all visit the official UIDAI website uidai.gov.in.
Step 2: Click on Aadhaar Services and select the option of Aadhaar Linking Status.
Step 3: Now enter your 12 digit Aadhaar number and click on Get Status.
Step 4: After this you have to enter your PAN card number and captcha code.
Step 5: Click on Get Linking Status to know the status of your Aadhaar-PAN linking.
Step 6: After this you will see whether your Aadhaar and PAN card is linked or not.
Also you can check the linking status of your Aadhaar and PAN card by visiting NSDL e-governance website www.nsdl.com.
Process to Check PAN-Aadhaar Card Linking Status by SMS
Step 1: Write a new SMS followed by space and type UIDPAN.
Step 2: Enter your 12 digit Aadhaar number followed by a space.
Step 3: After this enter your 10 digit PAN number.
Step 4: You need to SMS UIDPAN .
Step 5: Send SMS to 567678 or 56161.
Step 6: If your PAN is linked with your Aadhaar, you will receive an SMS, Aadhaar…is already linked with PAN in ITD database. Thank you for using our services.
Step 7: If your PAN is not linked with your Aadhaar, SMS will come, Aadhaar… is not linked with PAN in ITD database.
