MODERN MADRASAS: The picture of Madrasas in Uttarakhand is about to change now. In the madrassas where only Quran was taught and religious education was given, now the process of modernization is going to start there. In fact, the decision has now been taken to hi-tech the madrassas of Uttarakhand. Now studies will be done here according to the syllabus of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). Not only this but there will be a proper dress code for the children taking admission here.
In an effort to model madrassa education in the state, the Uttarakhand Waqf Board has decided to implement a dress code along with the NCERT syllabus in its madrassas from the next academic year. According to Uttarakhand Waqf Board chairman Shadab Shams, the board has also decided to welcome children of all religions in its madrassas. Modelization of 103 madrasas has been done under the board in Uttarakhand.
General Studies 8 AM to 2 PM
The board has also decided that Madrasas will teach general subjects to students daily from 8 am to 2 pm like other schools and religious education will be given to students only for one hour from 6:30 am to 7:30 am Will go
“We will introduce NCERT syllabus and a dress code on the lines of English medium schools in our madrassas so that students feel at par with other school-going children,” Shams said. According to him, the board aims to integrate the madrassa students into the academic community and help prepare them for a better future.
He said that the board has also decided to set up seven model madrassas. These include two madrassas each in Dehradun, Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts and one in Nainital. Smart classes will be organized in these madrasas.
