Every year thousands of candidates appear for UPSC exam in the hope of becoming a civil officer. However, out of thousands of students who register every year to clear the UPSC exam, only a few make it through to become officers. This shows how tough this exam is.
However, there are some people who overcome these difficulties and fulfill their dreams by passing this exam. One such person is Kuldeep Dwivedi. In fact, not only cracked the Civil Services Examination conducted by UPSC in 2015 but also secured All India Rank 242. He cleared the UPSC exam and became an IRS officer.
Father used to work as a security guard
IRS Kuldeep Dwivedi is a resident of Shekhpur, a small village in Uttar Pradesh. His father Suryakant Dwivedi worked as a security guard at Lucknow University. His father was the only earner in the family. There was a time when his salary was only 1100 rupees. Kuldeep’s father worked very hard to support the family. He also started working in the fields during the day to teach the children.
How to prepare for the exam step by step
Among 4 siblings, Kuldeep was the smartest in studies. He graduated from Allahabad University in the year 2009. After completing his post graduation in 2011, he started preparing for the exam. Kuldeep started preparing for UPSC exam by staying in Prayagraj. At that time he did not have a mobile phone.
Study like this with the help of friends
Kuldeep Dwivedi gave the UPSC exam in the year 2015. He achieved success by securing 242nd rank in his first attempt. His training started in August 2016 in Nagpur. Kuldeep did not take any coaching for UPSC exam. He used to study by borrowing books from other examinees.
