Haryana Sarkari Job 2023: Information Commissioner will be recruited for three posts in Haryana, apply till March 14

Haryana Government Jobs Notification 2023: Six posts of State Information Commissioner are vacant in Haryana, but let us tell you that the government is going to fill three of these soon. Several retired officers are in line to become the State Information Commissioner, while BJP and JJP leaders have also started lobbying for the same. Very soon the state government will also appoint chairpersons in some boards and corporations.

For this also lobbying has intensified in the party. At present, the state government has appointed Kuldeep Singh Multani as the chairman of Haryana Agro Industries in place of MLA Rakesh Daulatabad.

Refusal citing election preparations

Daulatabad is active in his Badshahpur assembly constituency. The state government had asked him to become the Speaker again, but Daulatabad declined citing political engagement in his area and preparations for the next assembly elections. In Badshahpur, CM’s OSD Jawahar Yadav is also busy preparing for the elections, while here a strong and influential BJP leader is also looking for his political future.

At present, the biggest movement in the politics of the state is to become the State Information Commissioner. The tenure of the State Information Commissioner is three years, which was earlier five years.

You can apply till March 14

The State Government has invited applications from eligible persons for three posts of State Information Commissioner. Any candidate who is interested and eligible can apply till 14 March. A total of six posts of Information Commissioner are vacant in the Haryana State Information Commission, which is more than half of the total 10 posts of Information Commissioners.

However, in September last year, the exercise to fill two vacant posts of information commissioner was started by the state government, which has now increased to three. Those persons who applied for the two posts of Information Commissioner last year need not apply again.

The tenure was 5 years as compared to the first three

According to Punjab and Haryana High Court advocate Hemant Kumar, the tenure of advocate Pankaj Mehta, appointed from Hisar district, ended on October 20, 2022, when he turned 65 years old. He could hold the post of Information Commissioner only for nine months. As per the existing legal provision, the tenure of Information Commissioner is three years from the date of assumption of office or till he attains the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier. However, prior to 24 October 2019, i.e. before the Parliament amended the RTI Act, the duration of this period was not three years but five years.

Thus, the tenure of the current Information Commissioner Jyoti Arora will be till January 2025, while that of Chief Information Commissioner Vijayvardhan and Information Commissioner SS Phulia will be till March 2025. Two other current information commissioners Kamaldeep Bhandari and Jai Singh Bishnoi were appointed to the commission in March 2019, both of whom will have tenure till March 2024.

Hemant said that according to the Right to Information Act 2005, in addition to the Chief Information Commissioner, a maximum of 10 Information Commissioners can be appointed in the State Information Commission.
