G20 Summit 2023: During the ongoing G20 2023 summit in New Delhi, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden announced mutual cooperation in the field of education between India and the United States. Both India and the US have joined hands on several initiatives like an Institute on Global Challenges, Joint Research Center and partnership in quantum domain.
An official said that the Council of Indian Institute of Technology i.e. IIT Council and the Association of American Universities (AAU) have agreed to establish a Global Challenge Institute between India and America with a joint initial commitment of at least US $ 10 million. An agreement was signed.
The institute’s mission is to address global issues including sustainable energy and agriculture, health and pandemic preparedness, semiconductor technology and manufacturing, advanced materials, telecommunications, AI and quantum science.

Regarding this, Shiksha said in a tweet that, the bond between India and America has deepened with the increasing cooperation in education with the increasing number of multi-institutional collaborative education partnerships between the two countries. These partnerships will serve as a testament to strengthening educational ties between India and the United States in the core, core area of education.
India’s Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also gave this information on his Twitter account and expressed happiness and praised the educational institutions.
IIT Kanpur is joining hands with New York University Tandon School of Engineering to launch the NYU-Tandon Advanced Research Center in important and emerging technologies. Additionally, IIT Kanpur, IIT Jodhpur, IIT BHU and IIT Delhi will tie up with the State University of New York at Buffalo to set up a joint research centre. IIT Kanpur, IIT Hyderabad and other institutes are also going to participate in the Academia Startup Partnership under the India-US Defense Acceleration Ecosystem.
