Delhi School Closed: Due to rising air pollution levels in the national capital, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday announced that all government and private primary schools in the city will remain closed for the next two days.

Delhi School Closed: What Kejriwal said

“In view of the increasing levels of pollution, all government and private primary schools in Delhi will remain closed for the next 2 days,” Kejriwal said in a post on social media.

Order of Directorate of Education regarding Delhi School

However, online classes will be conducted in schools run by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). Schools will remain open for teachers and staff. The Directorate of Education, Delhi, said in an order that all pre-school, pre-primary and primary classes (from nursery to class five) will remain physically suspended for these two days. The order states that, “Teachers of these classes will conduct classes on online mode.”

Delhi School Closed: Pollution level

This announcement came after the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) in Delhi-NCR said in an order that the level of pollution in Delhi has increased to severe air quality which has reached the third stage. This is expected to increase further due to extreme adverse weather and climate conditions.
