Big change in Deemed University.
A new committee was formed regarding the education policy under the chairmanship of ISRO chief Dr. K. Kasturirangan. In May 2019, the Kasturirangan Committee presented the new form of the National Education Policy to the government. Which was approved by the government during the cabinet meeting. This is the third education policy in India after 1986.
Ministry of Human Resource Management With the change in education policy, the name of Ministry of Human Resource Management was changed to Ministry of Education. Professional development for teachers has been made necessary under the National Education Policy.

Changes have been made in the guidelines of UGC Regulations 2023 (Institutions Deemed to be Universities) 2019. These guidelines have been revised as per the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. In relation to this subject, the Ministry of Education shared the information by tweeting. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has recently launched the UGC (Institutions Deemed to be Universities) Regulation 2023. During this, guidelines have been issued regarding simplification of rules for establishment of Deemed University.
Any higher education institution that is less than 20 years old was eligible to apply for deemed university status. However, now under the changed rule, multidisciplinary, it has been replaced by NAAC grading, NIRF ranking and NBA grading. These guidelines have been changed in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The Ministry of Education gave information about this subject by tweeting.
