Motichoor Chaknachoor trailer out: Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Athiya Shetty film is a laugh riot

If Nawazuddin Siddiqui scared you with his Ganesh Gaitonde portrayal in Sacred Games, he is surely going to make you roll on the floor and laugh as Pushpender, in Motichoor Chaknachoor. He is joined by Athiya Shetty, who was last seen in Mubarakan, co-starring Arjun Kapor and Anil Kapoor.

A couple of days ago, Bombay High Court had ordered a stay on the release of the trailer of Motichoor Chaknachoor. The trailer was initially supposed to be released on October 10. This was due to a commercial arbitration petition, filed by Debamitra Biswal, writer and director of Motichoor Chaknachoor, over non-payment of dues by the makers of the film Woodpecker Movies Private Limited. The stay, however, was soon lifted, post which, the trailer was released today, October 11.

Motichoor Chaknachoor is a complete laugh riot, and fresh change for Nawazuddin fans, who last saw him as the menacing Ganesh Gaitonde in Sacred Games. Here, Nawazuddin is seen as Pushpender, a 36-year-old man looking for a bride. But frequent rejections lead to a series of hilarious events, that leave you in splits. Now Pushpender just wants to get married, and he will go to any extent to make it happen.

Athiya Shetty plays Nawazuddin's love interest, Anita, in the film. She too is looking for a husband, but there's a catch - she wants to settle abroad after marriage, and her only criteria for a 'good' husband is that he needs to facilitate that.

A freak misunderstanding leads Anita and her maasi to believe that Pushpender has a cushy job in Dubai. They resort to wooing him. Pushpender, however, is jobless, but he conveniently hides the truth. All hell breaks loose when Anita finds out her now-husband Pushpender is unemployed!

Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Athiya Shetty's unconventional pairing makes Motichoor Chaknachoor particularly interesting. It will give you serious Main, Meri Patni Aur Woh vibes, the Rajpal Yadav and Rituparna Ghosh-starrer about a man married to a woman who is taller than him.

Motichoor Chaknachoor is set to release on November 15, this year.
