Dharmendra is hale and hearty, actor assures fans he has recovered from dengue
Dharmendra was recently diagnosed with dengue and had to be admitted to a Mumbai hospital. A day after his discharge, he has shared an update about his health on social media. The 83-year-old veteran actor took to Instagram and revealed that he was in Lucknow when he was hit by the disease, but now he is feeling much better.
Dharmendra, who is known for a good sense of humour, captioned his post with an idiom.
He wrote, "Friends, main Lucknow gaya tha. Achanak dengue naam ki besharm bimaari ne aa ghera. Ab zara aaraam hai. Oont pe bethe ko bhi kutta kaat jaata hai."
Dharmendra also posted a newspaper clipping which had details about him being diagnosed with dengue and discharge from the hospital. In the post, the Sholay actor assured his fans that he is "hale and hearty"
"Love you friends, I am hale hearty with your good wishes (sic)," the caption reads.
Dharmendra was admitted in Hinduja Hospital in Khar, in suburban Mumbai last week. After three days, doctors decided to discharge him as he was responding well to the treatment. A source close to the actor recently revealed that Dharmendra is "resting at his house in Mumbai" and is better now, IANS reported.
Back in 2015, Dharmendra complained about shoulder pain and was rushed to Breach Candy hospital in Mumbai. This had happened because he hurt his shoulder during the shoot of Smeep Kang's film, Second Hand Husband.
Dharmendra's wife Hema Malini and daughter Esha Deol had shared updates about him on social media till the time his health improved.
He was last seen in Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se, which was released last year. The film also had his sons Bobby Deol and Sunny Deol in it. It was a sequel of Yamla Pagla Deewana (2011) and was made after a gap of seven years.
